Abstract

This paper explores the utilization of AI-enabled virtual reality (VR) therapy as an innovative approach to pain management in healthcare. Virtual reality therapy has gained recognition for its efficacy in distracting patients from pain perception. However, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) enhances its potential by personalizing therapy sessions and improving treatment outcomes. The paper discusses the theoretical foundations of AI and VR in pain management, reviews recent advancements in AI-driven VR therapy, and examines its applications across various healthcare settings. Additionally, challenges and future directions for research and implementation are discussed to underscore the importance of this emerging technology in healthcare.
